The historic Methodist church has stood at the corner of Elm and Main since 1889, its red brick facade and white steeple a quiet landmark for generations. Inside, the wooden pews creak under the weight of Sunday morning sunlight slanting through stained-glass windows that tell Bible stories in blue and gold. The faint scent of old hymnals and floor polish lingers, while the basement fellowship hall still hosts potlucks and youth group meetings, the same as when my grandmother was a child.
